About

This open-access journal aims to bridge academic research and practical insights, promoting the dissemination of interdisciplinary and applied studies.
We welcome submissions from a wide range of disciplines—including management, social sciences, information science, engineering, medicine, and healthcare—emphasizing the integration of theoretical contribution and social impact.
Particular attention is given to research addressing innovation, startups, open science, digital transformation, institutional reform, and regional development, which are critical issues in contemporary society.


Focus and Scope

The journal welcomes original research and practice-oriented studies in the following fields:

  • Technology Management (MOT), Innovation, Business Models, and Startup Management

  • Medicine, Welfare, and Healthcare
  • Public Policy, Social Systems, and Education Studies

Submissions may employ various research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches, as well as theoretical analysis, empirical studies, case studies, and policy proposals.




Licenses and Copyrights

Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA)

Upon acceptance for publication, the author(s) agree to transfer all copyrights in the article to the Japan Open Access Society (JOAS) and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, waive their moral rights. This consent includes all co-authors. Please review the detailed terms below.

Agreement on Copyright Transfer and Author Warranties
  1. Assignment of Copyright

    Upon publication of the article in this journal, the author(s) agree that all copyrights in the article—including the rights of reproduction, public transmission, adaptation, creation of derivative works, and all other rights of exploitation—shall be transferred without compensation to the publisher, the Japan Open Access Society.

  2. Moral Rights

    The author(s) agree not to exercise any of their moral rights (including the rights of disclosure, attribution, and integrity) as defined under copyright law with respect to any editing, formatting, or other modifications made by the publisher. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the author(s) also agree to assign such moral rights to the publisher.

  3. Author Warranties

    The author(s) warrant that:

    • The article represents their own original research and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
    • The article does not infringe upon any copyright, patent, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
    • All data, figures, and images used in the article are properly cited and used with the necessary permissions.
    • The research data and findings presented in the article are free from fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
  4. Co-author Consent

    The corresponding author confirms that all listed co-authors have fully understood and agreed to the terms of this agreement and have consented to the submission of the article and the transfer of copyright.


Peer Review

This journal operates a double-anonymized peer review process.
All submissions are reviewed by at least two independent experts, and the final decision is made by the Editorial Board based on their recommendations.


Publication Fees

To support the publication process and open-access dissemination, the following Article Processing Charges (APCs) apply:

  • Japanese articles: USD 400
  • English articles: USD 800

These fees cover editorial management, peer review coordination, DOI registration, and open-access distribution.


Publication Cycle

The journal follows a continuous online publication model, releasing accepted articles throughout the year. In addition, biannual special issues may be organized around specific themes or research topics.


Submission Categories

The journal accepts manuscripts in the following two categories, both subject to peer review. All submissions are expected to demonstrate clear academic value and practical relevance.

  1. Full Paper
    A theoretical or empirical academic article that presents new findings or perspectives. Full papers should systematically describe the research background, objectives, methodology, results, and discussion, clearly articulating both theoretical contribution and practical implications. Authors are expected to demonstrate originality, validity, and reproducibility in their work.
  2. Research Note
    A short paper focusing on emerging research topics, practical cases, or concise analyses. Research Notes may include exploratory studies, conceptual discussions, methodological proposals, or findings derived from practice. This category also encompasses Case Studies and Case Notes, designed to share valuable insights in a concise and practitioner-oriented format.
